COOKING

I've loved cooking for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I'd spend hours glued to cooking competition shows, then host my own pretend cooking competitions with my mom as the judge — she always gave me a perfect score, of course.

Over the past few years, cooking has become a real hobby of mine. I love hunting down new recipes and experimenting with cuisines and dishes I've never tried before. There's also something so satisfying about cooking for friends and family and sharing a delicious meal together.

Cooking is my escape, too. When life gets stressful, nothing beats putting on my cooking playlist — Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Dean Martin, that kind of vibe and losing myself in the kitchen for an hour or two. For a little while, all the to-do lists and worries fade into the background, and I get to just focus on making something delicious.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have loved taking pictures ever since I got my first camera at 14. More recently I have developed a real passion for analog black and white film photography. It is a long and tedious process where one small misstep can ruin the entire photo, but there is something truly special about watching an image slowly develop onto paper for the first time. It stops being just a photo and becomes something more like a piece of art. Alongside analog film photography I also love shooting on my phone, whether it is something I find visually interesting, my friends and family, a beautiful location, or my cat Rue, who is so cute that I have no choice but to take a picture every single time.

MUSIC

If you know me, you know I am always listening to music. Music is the constant in everything I do it moves with me through every moment of the day and shapes the way I see and feel the world around me. My taste spans just about every genre imaginable, from the laid-back rhythms of reggae to the raw energy of classic rock to the energy of alternative hip hop, and that range of influence bleeds into my creative work in ways I don't always expect. Music doesn't just inspire me, it drives me.
